Zwolle is unique in several ways: its history, its people, its industries, its festivals, its government, and of course, its tamales.

The Zwolle Depot (shown above) is indicative of Zwolle's past, present, and future. Zwolle came into existence because of the Kansas City Southern Railroad, and although the passenger trains don't run along KCS's railways anymore, the depot remains a vital part of Zwolle. The depot is owned by the Town of Zwolle and is scheduled for renovation. Plans call for turning the depot into a museum. This will further ensure the preservation of part of the town's rich history.
